Who has the time...

Apologies first...I haven't updated in awhile!!! So sorry! I just don't have the time to blog! I need to start setting some time aside each week to make sure this blog is not neglected! Tonight I decided to not neglect the blog and instead I am neglecting the laundry that needs to be folded in the dryer, the dishes that need to be put away that are currently calling the dishwasher home, and the tornado called Tessa that has thrown toys all across my living room. BUT...The blog will not be neglected and that is most important...right?!

As you all know, my mom was down for the months of December and January. She left a couple of weeks ago. We had so much fun while she was down here and appreciate all the help she gives us! There is someone else that I miss sooooooo much...LACY! Yes...my parent's dog! I never realized how much food my darling daughter Tessa throws on the floor until the dog left. I miss Lacy...my knees miss Lacy. I hate wiping down the floor after every meal. I have two choices...I can either feed Tessa pasta or ravioli every night for the rest of my life OR I just have to deal with it and clean it up nightly. I look forward to the pasta or ravioli nights...Tessa's favorites! She eats every last bit of those meals and will look around her chair and on her to make sure it all made it in her mouth...it usually does. She is such a great eater. Although she has recently started becoming quite particular about what veggies she is eating I can usually get her to eat them! She LOVES green beans...she could eat those every day if I would let her. But what she doesn't know yet is that it isn't fun to eat green beans everyday! She likes carrots if I put them in her mouth for her...if I set them on her tray she immediately throws them on the floor. I blame the color. Why orange?! such a weird food color. ANYWAY...back to the topic...food. Tessa loves meat. I have yet to find a type of meat that she won't eat. As for fruits...blueberries. She loves them. She is also a huge banana fan. She will eat the mandarian oranges IF I need them to her...again...orange...weird.
 saying bye to nana
we miss you nana! come back soon...and bring LACY!

This past week was a tough week for me as a parent! First off, Saturday night around 11pm our power went out. It was out for 11 hours...yes...completely out...as in no power...as in no power and no heat...yes no heat. It was rough. When the power went out the temp in Tessa's room was 69 degrees. She was warm and toasty so we threw her blanket on her and hoped the power would come back on soon. It didn't. Come 3am my Tessa woke up crying so I brought her into our bed...something I never do because it just scares me! But ofcourse at this point her room was around 63 degrees and we needed to keep warm. Casey ended up sleeping on the couch with a couple blankets because Tessa totally hogs the bed. She moves around soooo much. We woke up around 8am and came into our living room...temp was 57...cold. I tried to think of it this way. This spring when its 57 degrees out we will think its a a heat wave! Windows will probably be cracked open and we will go for a walk in fresh air...WELL winter 57 is much different than Spring 57. We bundled up and had some milk and fruit hoping that the power would come on soon...yeah...it didn't. Finally it was just too cold so Tessa and I headed out to do some shopping! Obviously shopping did the trick because around 10am Casey called to say the power was back on. THEN of course since the place was freezing we cranked the heat up! Thankfully it stayed on and we didn't have to worry about being cold! I am just glad it went out at night. Much easier to keep Tessa warm while she is sleeping!

Another wonderful time this week was when I was sick! It was the first time I had really been so sick where I couldn't really do anything,. Started Monday night with a horrible headache and continued into Tuesday with flu like symptoms. It sucked. I stayed home from work and Tessa went to daycare. Although being sick sucked I totally lost 4 pounds :-) only about 10 flu's away from my goal weight! KIDDING!

Besides power being out and being sick things are great! Tessa is a blast. She is a sponge and learning new things daily. She is a walking machine. She would rather walk anywhere than have us carry her. If we are carrying her she will stiffen up straight and its so hard to carry her so we have to put her down and she will walk next to us. Its adorable but can be frustrating when you are running late for work or need to be somewhere! Daycare is working out great now that my mom is gone. Tessa has fully adjusted to it and has a blast.

A couple of weeks ago we finally got some pictures taken of Tessa! Below are some of my favorite pictures. Blogger shrunk them down so the quality doesn't look as sharp as they actually are. They turned out great! Now I just need to order some prints! Who has time for that! :) Enjoy the pictures!

 this is my favorite picture!!!
such a big girl!

Jessica is coming for a visit next week so I am sure I will have tons of pictures to update the blog with!

Until next time...Peace, Love, and TESSA!!!!!!

Tessa loves her sled!

For Chistmas Nana and Grandpa got little Miss Tessa a sled! Unforunately because we have either a) had no snow, or b) it was too cold out, we just haven't used it outside yet! We have spent PLENTY of time pulling her around inside but not outside.
That all changed earlier this week! We bundled Tessa up and pulled her around the apartment complex for a bit (around 10 minutes - her little nose was all red bc it was cold!). She LOVED it. She was just a squealing away! I was really looking forward to pulling her around more this weekend but....I'd say 0 or below zero is a LITTLE too cold. Hopefully we will get to spend more time outside soon!

Tessa is CONSTANTLY on the go! She sure does keep me on my toes! She is a sponge and learning new things every day! Yesterday we finally got some professional pictures taken of her. Tessa was a HAM! In the beginning we just had her sitting and then she starting moving around and posing. It was hilarious. We might just have a model on our hands...she should have the height for it! :-) Tessa started getting a little fussy but overall I think we got some good shots. She was here an entire hour and surprisingly Tessa was great! I can't wait to see them!

My mom, who has been here since beginning of December, is leaving next weekend. It is going to be a huge adjustment! She helps us out soooooooooo much. We have to get back into the swing of daycare...which I am NOT looking forward to at all. Tessa is going back to her previous daycare lady on the 31st. I hope Tessa does okay with the transition...and I hope I do okay too.

My next update should include some super cute pictures of Tessa!
Until next time...Peace, Love, and TESSA!

The Pacifier Monster

Happy January! We are up north this week at my parents house. Tessa has been playing with everything BUT the toys we brought :-) she would much rather play with the cupboards and Tupperware instead of her super fun toys. Yesterday we visited with my grandparents. Tessa for once didn't cry! Lately she has been crying when she is around someone she isn't used to and the last couple times she has cried when we were over there.
The funniest thing happened Tuesday night. Tess only gets a pacifier at bedtime. Tuesday night I had a container of pacifiers sitting out and she found them! The was in pacifier heaven. As you can see in the picture, she had one in her mouth and one in each hand. She kept popping one out to quickly pop another in. It was super cute.
We were originally supposed to come home Saturday but because I don't want to drive home in lots of snow we will be leaving tomorrow from my moms appointment in Petoskey. I shouldn't have to drive in the snow but I will be driving in the dark... which I hate.
Hope everyone is having a great 2011 so far!
Until next time...Peace, Love, and Tessa!!!!!

13 Months

My Tessa sure is keeping me on my toes! At 13 months she is interested in everything! She just started crawling up on things...talk about nerve wracking! She is starting to walk a lot more...however just the other day she started walking on her knees! Hopefully that isn't a long term mode of transportation!
She LOVES banana's and blueberries! Her favorite veggies are green beans and peas...sometimes carrots. If you put any type of potato in front of her she will eat it faster than you can get it on her place. She pretty much will eat anything we put in front of her! She is still sleeping through the night a majority of the time. She has some molars coming through right now that are causing some sleepless nights, but overall I can't complain!
My mom has been down with us since the beginning of December. It is SO nice having her around. She is so helpful and Tessa loves her so much! We don't get up north too much anymore so having her down for an extended visit is great...plus our daycare costs are non-existant for a couple of months...can't complain! She is leaving the end of the month...and then I have to remember how to cook again :-)

I've been rambling a lot so here are the important things...PICTURES!

50 Degrees out in the WINTER!

Loves her dolls...and her sled! We need snow!

Hugging her lion! Her new thing is hugging. She hugs everything and then makes a grunting noise as she hugs tight. Its so cute!

Too stinkin' cute!
Look at those cheeks!

Love watching Tessa grow and learn new things everyday! Can't wait to see what the next year has in store for us!

Until next time...Peace, Love, and TESSA!!!!!

Peek a boo!

I forgot to post this video in my last blog! She just starting playing Peek a Boo by covering her eyes...and sometimes her mouth :-) It is SOOOO cute! I promise this video will bring a big ol' smile to your face!

Christmas Pics!

FINALLY! I have some time to update my blog! Life is busy and hectic...but its also amazing! Tessa is amazing! She just lights up my world! She is a ball of energy...never stops moving! I hear it gets worse too...eeks! She has started taking 2 or 3 steps from one toy to another but she is not fully walking yet. The other day she did was 14 STEPS! between my mom and I! The last 3 or 4 steps were more of a forward tumble though. She loves peek-a-boo (a video is below!) and opening and closing anything she can get her hands on.

Christmas was fun. She, of course, was more interested in trying to eat the wrapping paper but had a good time. Her two fav's were her sled and her little kitchen. We obviously have NO snow so we have been running her up and down the hall many times!

Here are some pictures from Christmas!
