29 Weeks Pregnant

29 Weeks Pregnant!!!! I have no more than 10 more weeks (9 if they induce at 38 Weeks).

I had a doctors appointment and I found out I have Gestational Diabetes (GD)....no fun. Thankfully it can be controlled by my diet and no insulin is necessary. For more information about Gestational Diabetes click here: http://www.babycenter.com/0_gestational-diabetes_2058.bc
The only difference I have noticed so far is I am on a restricted Carb diet. When I first found out I have GD I was so upset - I figured I wouldn't be able to eat ANYTHING...but it turns out I can actually eat a lot...just none of the fun stuff like ice cream and candy! Which really...I don't need anyway! I have to poke my finger 4 times a day (when I wake up, and then 2 hrs after Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner). So far my Blood Glucose Levels have been great. Here is a typical day of eating for me:

Breakfast: 2 eggs, 1 1/2 pieces of toast (2 pieces put me over!)
Snack: Granola Bar w/Peanut Butter OR a piece of fruit - think a small apple & string cheese
Lunch: Sandwich, lots of veggies, piece of fruit, & string cheese
Snack: 3 cups popped popcorn with parmesean cheese
Dinner: Meat, Vegetable, 1/2 to 1 cup of mashed potatoes, piece of bread OR 1 cup cooked pasta with 1/2 cup marinara meat sauce with veggies.
Snack: Crackers and Cheese

Not the funnest way to eat when your pregnant and wanting to eat everything on the left side of a menu BUT it is what's best for me and Tessa.

Now onto the fun stuff! I missed last week bc I was up north as most of you know, so I will update today on whats going on during the 29th Week of pregnancy!

29 Weeks according to BabyCenter.com
Baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. Her muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and her head is growing bigger to make room for her developing brain. To meet her increasing nutritional demands, you'll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because her bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in your baby's hardening skeleton each day.

Next week I hit the big 30 weeks!!!! I am so excited! I really don't have much longer!

27 Weeks Pregnant!

WOW! 27 Weeks Pregnant! I can hardly even believe it! Seems like just yesterday I was freaking out because I was pregnant again! 27 weeks is the start of the 3rd trimester! Less than 3 months to go! I can't hardly wait!

Tessa has been VERY active lately, which is great. She still is kicking inwards so she often beats me up :-) I THINK she is starting to begin transitioning out of breach position because I am now starting to feel more movement along my left side. I hope she gets out of breach position because I do NOT want a c-section if I can help it. I did vaginal birth once and it wasn't THAT bad...I can definately do it again. I would love to avoid being cut open if I can!

My next doctors appointment is Thursday (the 17th). Looking forward to hearing Tessa's heartbeat again :) Pretty soon I start my twice weekly appointments and I will get to see her all the time!

As always...here is 27 weeks according to Baby Center:

This week, baby weighs almost 2 pounds and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.

26 Weeks Pregnant...WOW!

Wow...I can't believe I am already 26 weeks pregnant. Thanks for all the emails/facebook and calls of everyone being so supportive! It really helps with my anxiety! I just want December to be here!!!!! I have no more than 13 weeks left...hoping it will only be 12 weeks if I get my way. Mr Doc man is still saying 39 weeks but im hoping I can talk him into inducing at 38 weeks. We will just have to wait and see. Either way its less than 100 days!!!!!

I feel like I am getting HUGE! None of my clothes are fitting comfortably and I can't find any comfy ones to buy! I go to the store to get some new maternity clothes but I always end up coming home with clothes for Tessa instead! Baby clothes are just too cute to pass up!

Here are a couple belly pics...I really don't feel like im as big as the pictures make me...but I guess I don't look at myself from the side too much:

In a couple weeks we are headed up north. I am dreading the 4 hr drive but I am really looking forward to seeing all my family and friends that I have missed so much living so far away!
Here is the usual 26 week pregnant information from Baby Center:

The network of nerves in baby's ears are better developed and more sensitive than before. She may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. She's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of her lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when she's born and takes that first gulp of air. And she's continuing to put on baby fat. She now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English Hothouse Cucumber...picture below) from head to heel.
