Weeks 25-28 (month 6): Eggplant per TheBump.com

When I started this blog - TheBump.com had weekly updates/pictures you could look at to see how big your baby was compared to a certain type of fruit or vegetable. At about 20 weeks they started having just one fruit/veggie to compare for multiple weeks. FINALLY I am to week 25 and they a new comparsion! (Yes...im a dork!)
AND Here is what they had to say about the 6th Month:

Inside the womb, the formation of tiny capillaries is giving baby a healthy pink glow. Baby's also soaking up your antibodies, getting the immune system ready for life outside the womb. Eyes are forming, and baby will soon perfect the blink -- perfect for batting those freshly grown lashes.

So.....Im starting my sixth month today...then its the seventh, then the eighth, FINALLY the ninth, THEN BABY COMES HOME!!!! :-) Not much longer at all!

25 Weeks Pregnant today! Crazy how fast time has been going by. Things have been very uneventful - which is amazing! I can feel Tessa moving constantly which is so reassuring...and keeps me up/wakes me up at night!

25 Weeks Pregnant according to BabyCenter.com

Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.

24 weeks Prego already!

Tuesday I had a doctors appointment. Everything went great! Got to hear Tessa's little heartbeat and it was amazing to hear! I did find out that she is still in the breach position facing inward which is why I haven't been feeling her kicks so much on the outside because she is kicking me inside...which is a new feeling than my last pregnancy bc Alyssa was always kicking outward! Tessa has def. become very active at night! She is always waking me up in the middle of the night! Believe me...I am NOT complaining! I love every minute of it!

As for me, My throat has been killing me!!!!! They tested me for strep at my appt and that came back negative so its just annoying! My voice keeps going in and out...one second I am fine, the next I sound like a man! haha! I am hoping it will get better over the weekend with lots of rest!

On to the baby: Here is what Babycenter.com had to say about Tessa at 24 weeks :-) ONLY 15 more weeks to go!!!!!!!!!!

24 Weeks according to BabyCenter.com

Baby is growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts her at just over a pound. Since she's almost a foot long she cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but her body is filling out proportionally and she'll soon start to plump up. Her brain is also growing quickly now, and her taste buds are continuing to develop. Her lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help her air sacs inflate once she hits the outside world. Her skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.

Week 23 according to WomensHealth.com

How Big is the Baby at 23 Weeks Pregnant?

Baby is positively HUGE during pregnancy at 23 weeks, a whopping 1.1 pound (or almost at least!). That is quite an accomplishment for someone that used to weigh less than one ounce. The baby at 23 weeks is now the size of a small baby doll you might purchase for a little girl. That's pretty impressive considering she could fit in the palm of your hand just a few short weeks ago. Baby is also about 11 inches long by pregnancy week 23!

The Baby's Growth and Development

Baby is still making remarkable changes at pregnancy 23 weeks. Her skin is still quite red and heavily wrinkled by the end of pregnancy week 23. She can often hear loud noises in the womb from now and as you continue your pregnancy week by week, so don't be surprised if she seems to move around a bit when you are vacuuming or in an environment where loud noises are quite common.
The bones located in her middle ear are starting to form by pregnancy week 23 and your baby is continuing to fill out and look more and more proportional.

No picture this week! No sites compare baby to size of fruit anymore. I did find one site that said that she weights about as much as a mango (1 lb) and about the length of a Harry Potter book.

I have my next doc appt on Tuesday (the 18th). Should be a pretty quick one - in and out. I think all they will do is listen to the heart beat and feel the size of the uterus from my belly. I will be sure to update how it went!

Had a super cute layout!

I had a super cute baby inspired layout for my blog but it disappeared!

Back to good ol' Pink!

:-)

Here is a cool site I found online:

It shows how the baby grows fetal development and how the mom's organs get smooshed and moved around.

How my baby's growing:

At 11 inches (the length of a spagetti squash!!!) and almost 1 pound, baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. Her lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and she's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath her gums. Her eyes have formed, but her irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside the womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers her body and the deep wrinkles on her skin, which she'll sport until she adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside her belly, her pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.
